The story
Nazareth in the Bible
- Matthew 2:23: "And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, 'He shall be called a Nazarene.'"
- Luke 1:26-27: "In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary."
- John 1:46: "And Nathanael said to him, 'Can anything good come out of Nazareth?' Philip said to him, 'Come and see.'"
- Luke 4:16: "He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. On the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom, and stood up to read."
Touching the sacred, feeling the heartbeat
Nazareth, the city where the miraculous unfolded, is the place where Jesus took His first steps and grew up in the home of Mary and Joseph. Here, within the ancient churches, at the spring where Mary drew water, and in the vibrant market of the old city, you will find your faith coming to life once more.
Imagine yourself walking through the narrow streets, following in Jesus’ footsteps to the churches, sharing moments of reflection at Mary’s Well, where the holy mother drew water from the ancient spring. Every stone, every alley, tells a story of unwavering faith, of a spiritual journey that transcends time.
When you light a candle in the Basilica of the Annunciation, you join your prayer to the place where Mary said yes to God. And when your heart longs for Nazareth, our souvenirs carry something of its holiness, reminding you of your deep connection to the place where it all began.
Allow us to bring Nazareth to you, straight into your home. With every memento, you preserve a deep bond with Nazareth – the city where Jesus and Mary walked, the city where faith was born. Remember the moments that happened here, the hearts that opened in prayer, and the tears that quietly fell upon the ancient stones.
Nazareth awaits you, embracing you from afar, bringing its holiness to you. Keep the flame burning in your heart, until the day you return to us – to the city where faith beats.
